Anti Vibration Mounts

Anti vibration mounts
Our range of rubber mounts, rubber buffers, isolation mounts, rubber bumpers and bump stops have been designed to damp vibrations, shocks and noises produced by moving bodies or vibrating masses. They are supplied in a number of different mounting configurations in steel and stainless steel and are produced in natural rubber NR with hardness 55 shore A with options of 40 shore A and 70 shore A on request.

These are sophisticated engineering components with characteristics which vary dependant upon composition, design, construction and installation, so we have put together a brief guide on how to choose a suitable configuration whether as an isolation mount or bump stop.

VIBRATION DAMPING ELEMENTS

Vibration damping elements are a mature and pretty ubiquitous item – often hidden away inside or under engines, motors, fans or similar – so we are excited to announce a complete new range of damper and cushioning elements with steel and stainless steel base mounting.

 Elesa vibration damping elements

The DVA range is formed in natural rubber based on zinc/steel and AISI 304 stainless mounts with male or female attachments. They have been designed to damp vibrations, shocks and noises produced by moving bodies or vibrating masses which can cause malfunctioning and reduction of the machine lifespan and/or of the adjacent equipment, or even operator damage to health. Essentially operating in compression or shear, double ended cylindrical units are often required to carry heavy equipment loads while on the other hand single mounting buffers in pad or conical format are ideal for absorbing energy on impact during equipment operation or perhaps door closure or similar. METAL WORKING INDUSTRY STANDARD COMPONENTS

We are delighted to supply the metal working industry with some “special” standard components which simplify equipment production while contributing to equipment operation when installed.

 Elesa LW.A vibration damping elements

A good example of this is the range of LW.A vibration damping units which feature natural rubber damping pads built into an adjustable levelling foot design. They have been designed to damp vibrations, shocks and noise from moving components or non-balanced masses such as lathes, presses etc. This vibration can cause significant detrimental effects on operator health as well as malfunctioning/reduction-in-lifespan of the machine or adjacent equipment.

SELECTION CRITERIA AND GUIDANCE NOTES FOR VIBRATION-DAMPING LEVELLING ELEMENTS

Selection criteria for vibration-damping levelling elements - over recent years, there has been a steady improvement in performance of industrial machines leading to great improvements in both working speed and precision.  This has stemmed from improved design and better quality of manufacture of the machines themselves – nonetheless they still operate by means of moving parts and this creates vibration.  These moving bodies or non-balanced vibrating masses create vibrations or shocks which can cause malfunction and reduction of the machine lifespan and/or that of adjacent equipment. Where contact with personnel is involved then there is also significant concern for the operator – this is covered generally by the European directive about safety and healthy working with reference to noise and vibrations. Specifically mechanical vibration safety regulations for workers, in compliance with European directive 2004/44/CE 25 June 2002, prescribes the evaluation and the location of the health risks of workers exposed to mechanical vibration.
