Indexing plungers with clamp and added safety function

Elesa indexing plungers with clamp and added safety function
Our new GN7336.7 indexing plungers with clamp knob are used to position, to lock
and to make secure elements whose position needs to be changed such as guides,
plates etc. By axially lifting the knob, the spring pressure is overcome; hence
the plunger is retracted, allowing the positioning adjustment. By turning the
knob which is connected to the threaded body by means of a special hexagonal
insert, the positioning of the plunger is locked. The 5mm to 8mm plunger is in
AISI 304 stainless steel.

Correspondingly, the new sister GN7336.8 series indexing plunger with clamping knob for
safety locking are used where it is necessary to simultaneously position, lock
and make secure elements whose position needs to be changed. Thanks to its
special configuration, the GN7336.8 plunger cannot be extracted from the
positioning hole by simply turning the knob, as for the GN7336.7 plunger, but
it can be extracted only after unlocking it from the safety position by
unscrewing the M8 fastening screw by 5mm and turning the knob (when the plunger
is unlocked from the safety position the spring releases and the plunger can be
lifted). The plunger in this case (6mm to 8mm) is black oxide and nitrided
steel.

Approved operator re-set with GN816.1B index

Retracted rest indexing plungers with added safety and security from Elesa UK
Further adding to the functionality of our GN816 indexing plungers (with protruding rest position), we have now greatly extended the range with a compatible
GN816.1 variant offering a retracted rest position.

The GN816.1 maintains the safety rest feature complete with security key option. This ensures that the plunger cannot be inadvertently released when set to the
rest position – so protecting the integrity of associated machinery. In addition the GN816.1 B series provide the further security of a separate key needed
to extend or release the plunger so that only approved operators may re-set the index.

Typical applications are expected to include: location of machinery equipment in manufacturing, security locking in furniture
and component positioning of in-service equipment such as custom disability aids.

Indexing Element Feature

GN7336 Indexing plungers from Elesa
We are pleased to have recently expanded our family of indexing elements with the GN7336.7 clamping knob and it’s neighbour the GN7336.8 which incorporates an additional safety feature so as to ensure that removal requires loosening of an M8 nut before manual operation of the index plunger.

The new GN7336 range are a perfect complement to our full series of indexing plungers, ball lock pins and spring plungers.
With some 44 different families of indexing plungers in plastic and steel construction we seek to cover all needs – many have flanges and/or rest positions features – plus some with safety rest position - many lever operated indexing plungers also augment the majority range of pull types.

Our ranges of ball lock pins and spring plungers include 27 different families in steel and stainless steel offering lock pins for confined spaces as well as larger head versions – sping plungers range from simple units with plastic, steel or stainless steel balls up to the GN615.7 with integral switch.

GN822.1 Mini Indexing Plungers

GN822.1 mini indexing plungers
Mini indexing plungers are a vital part of many machines as they offer a quick, tool-free and positive positioning system in a very small package, consistent with standard engineering practices and suitable for fitment to even thin gauge sheet metal down to 3.5mm.

Now we are pleased to offer the GN822.1 series which feature steel or stainless steel bodies with stainless steel plungers and internal spring – the manually operated knob is matt black in polyamide technopolymer. Two variants are available in plunger sizes 4mm to 7mm with normal default of pin extended and type C with the default of the pin retracted. A simple 90° turn of the operating knob either retracts or extends the plunger pin to suit the equipment process.

Cam action indexing plungers – positioning at the flick of a finger

Cam action indexing plungers from Elesa
We are delighted with the new GN612.8 range of cam action indexing plungers which are ideal for location of equipment on machine tools, work jigs and other situations where the locking pin must not protrude all the time. By simply rotating the lock lever through 180 degrees the locking pin may be withdrawn – conversely a flick of a finger will displace the lever from its locating notch so releasing the pin to lock the required equipment in place.

The GN612.8 series are manufactured with zinc die bodies, steel pins and polyamid levers, plunger sizes range from 6mm to 12mm dia., with or without lock nut as required.

INDEXING SPRING PLUNGERS WITH SAFETY REST POSITION AND SECURITY KEY OPERATION

GN816 series indexing plungers

The humble indexing plunger has acquired a new safety rest feature in our GN816 series and has gone further with the addition of a security key. Thus we have ensured that the plunger cannot be inadvertently released when set to the rest position – so protecting the integrity of associated machinery. In addition the GN816B series provide the further security of a separate key needed to extend or release the plunger so that only approved operators may re-set the index.

Typical applications are expected to include: location of machinery equipment in manufacturing, security locking in furniture and component positioning of in-service equipment such as custom disability aids.

COMPONENTS FOR POSTURAL SEATING AND THERAPEUTIC EQUIPMENT

The specifications for components of postural seating and therapeutic equipment – such as chairs, wheel chairs, wheeled walker frames, massage couches, beds and support frames – have developed substantially in recent years along with the industry. This is perhaps especially true of those products designed to improve the quality of life for children with special needs.

Low cost indexing plungers

Our PMT 100 and PMT 101 are perfect examples of high quality at reduced cost - with  threaded bodies in reinforced technopolymer that is lightweight and low friction for smooth easy operation in production or measurement equipment, where frequent quick indexing is required.

Elesa indexing plungers

The PMT 100 is a simple push/pull index unit, while its companion the PMT 101 features a pin retraction lock to enable free hands-off movement when the indexing is not required – this safeguards the pin from possible damage.
